Mississippi SECOND AMENDMENT SALES TAX HOLIDAY Date Changes

According to news sources today, The Mississippi State Legislature has changed the date of the Mississippi Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday for the annual sale event. While this may have not affected brick & mortar store owners it has affected Trade shows all over the state as promoters are scrambling to change their show dates to rebook venues for the new dates and get their vendors to also change their dates and hopefully not loose those vendors to other shows. I for one had already booked with another show for that weekend so now I have figure out how to be in two places at one time. This will not be the first or last time I will have to split up my company into two teams and head into different directions. While I know State Legislatures could care less about the little business, this does affect more than just me as other small business persons are affected too and this should have been planned out a year in advance. The 2018 MSAW holiday takes place between 12:01 A.M. Friday, August 31, 2018 and 12:00 Midnight Sunday, September 2, 2018.
