Louisiana Still Not Ready To Open


In a recent press release this past wee, Louisiana Governor Edwards has extended the Stay At Home Orders for his state until May 15th. This means that all the trade shows scheduled for May 2nd, 9th and 16th in his state will and have been cancelled until such time he and his staff decide on a phased plan to reopen in accordance with the President of the United states and his staff. Louisiana is still plagued with severe cases of the Pandemic known as Covid-19 / Coronavirus This includes the Classic Arms / Lafayette Gun Show on May 2 & 3, 2020. Murphy's West Monroe Show on May 2nd & 3rd, and most likely the Classic Arms / Gonzales show on May 16th & 17th. Although the May 16th has not officially been cancelled, it most likely will be based on the scheduled phased plan opening as ordered by Trump. According to new articles published, Governor of Louisiana has extended the Stay At Home Order until May 15th and then they will meet again to "possibly" discuss opening procedures for Louisiana. Classic Arms did convey their next show in Lafayette will be June 27 & 28, 2020 at the District Event Center. Murphy will however not be back to West Monroe until October. Other shows around the South have also not reopened but there is hope Georgia, Florida and Alabama may be the first to reopen their trade show circuit but nothing has officially been released at this time other than initial plans to reopen their state in May.
