Alabama Expos In Danger for Summer 2020 Due To Coronavirus

Due to the world wide pandemic, President Trump has currently ordered Social Distancing Guidelines for all US States for the past 30 days. On April 16, 2020, he and his Coronavirus Task Force gave notice to allowing the United States to reopen under specific guidelines. Trump did state each state will have to follow their guidelines but he is leaving it up to the actual states right now. High impacted states will not be able to open for a little longer, however states with mild cases could open immediately as long as they follow the Federal guidelines. Mississippi being one of the states with super high cases of Coronavirus may be in danger with their highly anticipated annual event. With a horrible 2019 event for the Mississippi Wildlife Extravaganza it was already undermined if they were going to have a new expo. Mississippi Wildlife Federation who hosts the event has been dealing with a lot of drama inside their organization with the firing and rehiring of two executive directors both in 2018 and 2019 which boasted a horrible turnout and sabataugh by several vendors. Last years showing was so bad many felt the organization was at risk of closing permanently. MWF already had to cancel their March event sighting "In light of the coronavirus pandemic, the Mississippi Wildlife Federation is deeply saddened to postpone its 60th Annual Conservation Achievement Awards and Annual Meeting in Jackson MS, which was to be held on March 19th.“The health and safety of the award recipients, our guests and members is our number one priority. Following a thorough assessment of the potential risk to our attendees, we feel this is the responsible and prudent decision at this time. Our hearts and prayers go out to those currently affected by the coronavirus across the country,” said Ashlee Ellis Smith, chief executive officer of the Federation. Now with Coronavirus so strong in their state, it is unknown at this time if the Extravaganza will even happen. We have reached out to them for a comment but have yet to receive any news updates and they have also not done any advertising for their event which is a little over 2 months away. In other news from Alabama, they have three major events / expos scheduled for this Summer that also may be in jeopardy. We have written each one asking for details but have yet to receive any news updates.
