Sidekick 3-Stage Straw Water Filter by HydroBlu

I would like to introduce you to a new product that I absolutely love and carr with me everywhere now days. Not only do I carry the HydroBlu Versa Flow Water Filter n my Go Bag, I now carry this as part of my everyday gear. HydroBlu is back at it again with a great portable, pocket 3 Stage Straw Water Filter. This is not much bigger than a Sharpie Pen and can easily be carried in the front pocket of a button down shirt. Super lightweight and perfect for EDC Gear for on-person wear or something to keep in the car or truck. The simplicity and ease of use of the Sidekick protects you from bacteria, chemicals, heavy metals, and other contaminants. There is no other water filter I have found on the market in such a small, compact size that offers the three stage filtration that you find in the SideKick. Large sediment is blocked with the cotton pre-filter membrane at it's base, increasing the longevity of the filter. Nasty chemicals and heavy metals are adsorbed by the Activated Carbon Filter. Activated Carbon removes lead, iron, cadmium, nickel, chromium, and zinc along with chlorine, pesticides, herbicides, gasoline, and diesel fuel. Once the pre-filter and Activated Carbon filters have reached their life expectancy of 50 gallons, they can simply be replaced with the extra end cap filter which is included. Finally, the Ultrafiltration Hollow Fiber removes 99.999% of bacteria. Hollow Fiber is made of dozens of tubes that have microscopic holes (0.1 microns) that don’t allow bacteria to pass through, while allowing clean water through by size exclusion technology. Most other filters on the market are .2 Microns while all that HrdoBlu offer are .1 microns of filtration and this allows them to stand above the rest in the industry.

While I am not a fan of getting down on my knees to dip the straw into a river or creek, I am more willing to find a plastic soda bottle, cut to top out of it and use the straw or use my own water bottle or Yeti canteen. This is hands down better than the LifeStraw. For some reason I just have never liked that product but I really like the SideKick. Smaller and more portable and filters better and more particulates.

Most recently we were in a town that had a water main burst and all the water in the area was dirty, this would have filtered of the contaminants and allowed you to safely drink water.
